An armoured car for the Germans

Here is a Sd Kfz 222 from Warlord Games. I was first going to buy the plastic one that Rubicon previewed at Salute last year, but since that hasn't been released yet I bit the bullet and bought a resin one. Not a bad model, it's better than the AMC Schneider Panhard I posted the other week, but it's still not as easy to build as a plastic one, and I'm still scared that the small metal bits will bread off.

Anyways, on to the photos! I've painted it in the early war dark grey, and managed to find some fitting decals. The kit did include some decals, as well as coloured wool for damage markers, but they were all later ones, with black Balkenkreuz.

The Armoured Car with a Thousand Names

The AMC Schneider P16 aka AMC Citroën Kegresse Model 1929 aka the Schneider Panhard P16 aka Schneider Kegresse certainly had a lot of names at school!

The AMC in the name stands for Automitrailleuse de Combat, i e an armoured car.
Citroën designed the original, Schneider armoured it, and they used a motor from Panhard. Kegresse built the tracks.

Whatever you call it, this was a French armoured car designed in the interwar years. The French army bought about 100 of them, mainly to be used in a reconnaissance rôle for the cavalry. When World War II rolled around they were old and beat up, and were in the process of being replaced by Somua S35's.
They didn't fare too well in the war, many failing mechanically, either on the way to the battle or in retreat.

The model is a resin model from Warlord Games.

Swedes in WWII

I was recently hit by an inspiration to convert some Swedish army troops for Bolt Action. I realised that if you squint a bit, you could get by by using German mid-war bodies. You just have to remove the shoulder-straps.
For the helmets I've used either Japanese (which seems to fit better as the m/21 helmet) or Soviet heads, with the helmet carved down a bit. I'm also using the early war German boat caps, as those kinds of hats were very common.

Painting-wise the helmets are supposed to show an embossed three crowns emblem on the front, and a painted blue and yellow one on the sides. The uniform is painted in Green Grey with a brown wash, and is supposed to look like the official GrBrGr colour, which stands for GreyBrownGreen.

And here is a bonus, I've also finished a few more monsters for Mansions of Madness, a Hound of Tindalos and a Chtonian.

New spaceship for Stargrave

I've painted up another of the Buzz Lightyear ships, this one is bigger and for the big bads, if I understand correctly (I haven't ...
